The angling licence is required when angling in salt water areas in Danish fishing territory or in natural fresh water, and in canals, ditches, and similar artificially created fresh waters that are part of or replace natural watercourses.
In fresh waters the owner of the fishing stream in question must give permission for angling even though you have paid for your angling licence.
Angling licences are not required by:
People under the age of 18 years
People of 65 years of age and above
Anglers at many angling lakes (put-and-take lakes)
Recreational fishermen from Denmark who have a valid fishing permit
The owner (and family) of the ground closest to the fishing stream.
You must take your angling licencenumber and proof of identity with you when you go fishing.
If there are several anglers in your household they must all have an angling licence.
Income from recreational fishing license and angling license is spent on stocking waters with fish and other types of fish cultivation.
The idea is to promote opportunities for catching fish for recreational fishermen, anglers and professional fishermen.
Fish cultivation is organised in a close collaboration between the Danish NaturErhvervsstyrelsen and angling associations.
THE NATIONAL FISHING LICENSE is valid for one year from the date of issue which can be up to approximately one week before date of purchase as Dagkort.dk for administrative reasons must purchase the licence in advance in order to meet demands from The NaturErhvervsstyrelsen.
